VA Mortgage

Guidelines

The first thing you will want to understand when applying for a VA loan is your current entitlement status. This can affect your loan size and therefore your purchase price. Follow the link to the side here to request your Certificate of Eligibility.


If you have a full VA entitlement amount there is really no loan limit restriction. However, for all other circumstances VA loan limits will be similar to your county conforming loan limits.


  • 1 Unit Property - $726,200
  • 2 Unit Property - $929,850
  • 3 Unit Property - $1,123,900
  • 4 Unit Property - $1,396,800


There is no credit score minimum or DTI (Debt-To Income) ratio set by the VA. They require a lender to consider a borrowers entire credit profile. However, scores over 580 and DTI ratios under 50% are good rules of thumb for your reference.
