“How do you know someone is from delco?...Don’t worry they’ll tell you”. I'm Ryan Malarick, and I'm a mortgage broker currently living in Drexel Hill, PA.
I have been interested in real estate, specifically House Hacking, since about 2014. At the time, I was sitting mindlessly at a desk job just happy to not be moving furniture or catering weddings for my main source of income anymore, but I knew it wasn't for me. I didn’t want the mundane office life, squirreling away 3% into a 401k and waiting until I was 65 to retire. It was at this point I stumbled on to different real estate podcasts and websites that would talk about low down payments, renting out part of your house to cover your mortgage and repeating this process to build financial freedom. I was hooked.
Luckily, my employer lost a huge client and was forced to make cut backs, and I was laid off in 2018. I took this opportunity to jump from finance into the real estate world. After some extensive research, I landed on mortgages as not only a way to help myself, but others as well.
Finally in 2020 after marrying my beautiful, smart and perfect wife, Megan, we bought our first duplex in my hometown of Drexel Hill.
My mission is to provide straightforward information to the Delco community (and beyond) regarding mortgages, and to hopefully inspire one more person to stop waiting and make their first House Hacking purchase.
